Bold Red Orchids and Black Tie Elegance at This Lowndes Grove Wedding

Food & Drink

The evening’s culinary experience was a true highlight of Katie and Andrew’s celebration. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a selection of Southern-inspired bites, including boho pork tacos, tomato pies, pimento cheese crostinis, and a traveling raw bar that added an interactive and memorable touch. For dinner, guests began with a fresh Greek Goddess salad before selecting from three thoughtfully curated entrée options: miso-marinated black cod, braised short rib, or ricotta ravioli. Accompaniments included roasted broccolini, creamy risotto, and Boursin whipped potatoes.

Florals & Decor

Florals and décor played a central role in bringing Katie and Andrew’s vision to life. Designed by Flora by Hannah, the floral arrangements embraced a moody and organic aesthetic, featuring striking red orchids, romantic roses, lush greenery, and whimsical blooms throughout the celebration. Katie’s bouquet made a bold statement with cascading red orchids that perfectly complemented the wedding’s rich color palette. At the reception, thoughtful details such as oyster shell place cards, abundant fruit displays featuring pears and grapes, candlelight, and layered floral arrangements created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The combination of dramatic florals, natural textures, and elegant styling transformed Lowndes Grove into a romantic setting that felt timeless, sophisticated, and effortlessly beautiful.

Wedding Cake

Katie and Andrew’s wedding cake was a stunning extension of their overall design vision. The elegant three-tier cake featured a timeless ivory finish accented with fresh grapes and pears, echoing the abundance-inspired details woven throughout the reception. Displayed beneath the glow of café lights and surrounded by lush, moody florals, the cake became a beautiful focal point of the evening. Adding a personal touch, a small sculpture of the couple’s beloved dog rested at the base of the cake, a sweet nod to an important member of their family. The organic fruit accents, rich floral arrangements, and romantic setting perfectly captured the sophisticated yet natural feel of the celebration, making the cake display as memorable as the dessert itself.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

Katie and Andrew shared their first dance to “All Night Long,” kicking off the celebration in the best way. The fun, upbeat song was the perfect fit for the couple and set the tone for a night full of dancing, laughter, and making memories with their favorite people.

Special Detail #1

One of the most memorable details of the day was the use of oyster shells as place cards for each guest, lovingly made by the bride’s mother. A nod to the Lowcountry setting, the hand-lettered shells added a personal touch while blending seamlessly into the wedding’s organic and elegant design. The unique escort cards were both beautiful and meaningful, giving guests a special detail to admire as they found their seats while showcasing the care and creativity that went into every aspect of the celebration.

Special Detail #2

Rather than following tradition, Katie and Andrew chose to have their wedding party seated during the ceremony. The decision allowed the focus to remain on the couple while still honoring the important role their closest friends and family played in their lives. It created a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere, reflecting the couple’s desire to celebrate surrounded by their loved ones without the formality of a traditional wedding party lineup.
