Cloud-Like Florals Brought Softness to This Refined Oceanfront Wedding
Food & Drink
The food and beverage selections were largely inspired by our caterer, Omni Catering. During our tasting, we were especially drawn to the beet and burrata salad and the sirloin steak, both of which became highlights of the menu. For appetizers, we chose an abundant charcuterie display featuring a curated assortment of cheeses and cured meats. In addition to a full bar, we incorporated personal touches with our signature cocktails: a Lemon Drop and an Old Fashioned, reflecting each of our individual tastes.
Florals & Decor
The florals were designed to feel organic, refined, and cohesive with our overall aesthetic. We kept the palette primarily neutral, with soft whites and subtle green accents that allowed the natural textures and shapes to stand out. My bouquet featured a classic mix of white blooms, including ranunculus and garden roses, arranged in a loose, rounded style. It was exactly what I had envisioned, as I wanted a softer interpretation of a traditional bouquet. Throughout the ceremony and reception, we carried that same approach into the arrangements, combining sculptural elements with more delicate florals to create a look that felt elevated yet understated.
Wedding Cake
The cake design played an important role in reinforcing the overall aesthetic of our wedding. Our neighbor, who owns Big Red Baking, was wonderful to work with and truly understood our vision, creating a cake that felt like a piece of art with its sculptural, draped form. The monochromatic palette kept it timeless, while the texture added depth and visual interest. She also created a miniature gluten-free cake so I could fully enjoy the dessert.
Special Detail #1
An especially meaningful and personal touch to our wedding was the opportunity for me to perform for our guests. Just after everyone was seated for the reception, my father surprised them by announcing that I would be singing two songs, one accompanied by my uncle on the piano, and one performed solo. The pieces I had chosen were “At Last” by Etta James and “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. To bring this moment to life, we had a grand piano brought onto the property that morning. I’ll never forget sitting in hair and makeup, watching it being wheeled through the house and across the lawn; it felt like such a surreal and perfect addition. Music has always been an important part of my life, so incorporating live performances throughout the day, including a pianist during the ceremony and dinner, made the celebration feel even more personal and memorable.

Alongside our wedding cake, we chose to include a tiramisu tower as a fun and personal touch. My husband and I both love tiramisu, and we wanted to find a way to incorporate it into the celebration, so we decided to have both. A close friend graciously offered to make the tiramisu gluten-free to accommodate me, which made it even more special. We did our cake cutting just before the first dances, and later in the evening, after I changed into my second look, we returned for the tiramisu tower. I was so excited to have it and felt it ended up being just as memorable, if not even more fun, than the cake itself.

As someone who loves fashion, having a second look was just as important to me as my ceremony gown. Unlike my initial dress search, though, this one took months to find. I was looking for something that felt true to me, classic yet with a sense of fun, but I kept coming across options that leaned too far in one direction or the other. When I found the Helena dress by Arcina Ori, it was exactly what I had been searching for. The fluid fabric and full-length silhouette gave it that timeless elegance, while the chiffon draping and low back added a softer, more playful element. It struck the perfect balance. Changing into it and surprising my husband was such a memorable moment.
